Risk Assessment Period

An interval typically spanning a fixed-interval of 12 months (for risk adjustment) or variable-length intervals needed for quality measurement. The risk assessment period are the months we are using to capture a members’ characteristics, such as the diagnosis codes to be used for risk adjustment or the months during which we capture whether the member had a mammogram or other clinical intervention.
