The Encounter Data Front-End System (EDFES) receives Encounter Data Records (EDRs) and Chart Review Records (CRRs) from Medicare Advantage Organizations and other submitters. Records passing the final round of edits are sent from the EDFES to the back-end system EDPS for detail processing and pricing.
