Developed by (HL7), CDA has been adopted in many countries as the standard for structuring and exchanging clinical documents in electronic form. CDA is an XML-based markup standard intended to specify the encoding, structure, and semantics of clinical documents for exchange. CDA provides a standardized framework and format for representing health-related information and is the most widely used content standard for routine data.
